Come see the room your child would join and meet the teachers who work in it. You will get a feel for the space, the rhythm of the day and the materials on the shelves. Ask anything about how the classroom runs. Then we talk about the next step for your family.
Once enrollment is complete, we plan a first week that suits your child's routine. Shorter days at the start help a child get used to the room and the people in it. A familiar item from home can come along. Teachers will tell you how the day went.
Most families bring enrollment forms, a health form and an immunization record, plus emergency contacts and the names of people allowed to pick up their child. We are glad to answer questions about any form along the way. Reach us at orchardvalley@ovws. org if something is unclear.
Pack a full change of clothes, outdoor gear for the season, and nap items if your child rests during the day. A small comfort object from home is welcome. Please label everything with your child's name so it finds its way back.
Before the first day, talk with us about the drop-off routine and who will pick up your child. Tell us how you would like to hear about the day, whether at pickup or by message. A settled start begins with a plan everyone knows.
The first days are usually shorter, so your child can get used to the room and the teachers a little at a time. A familiar object from home helps bridge the morning. A teacher greets your child by name at the door. You can stay close until your child is ready for you to go.
At pickup, teachers tell you what your child did, what they ate and how they rested. They will let you know how the drop-off went after you left. Most children settle within a few weeks. Call or email us if you want to check in during the day.

Yes, a tour is how most families decide. Children can come along and see the classrooms, the land, and the animals; ask us to arrange a time.

Schedules differ by age group, and what is open changes through the year. Tell us your child's age and the days you need, and ask us what is currently available in Sweet Clover Nursery, PreK and Kindergarten, or the grades.
Families can ask us to let them know when a place opens for their child's age. We will reach out as soon as we can, though we cannot promise a date.
